What does Treatment consist of?
Your practitioner will begin by cleansing your skin to remove any impurities and make up. The site of injection will be cleansed thoroughly. Some minor discomfort will be experienced during treatment but this can be numbed by a topical anaesthetic cream which you will need to apply before your appointment.
The injection is administered at the mid-dermis level due to the product containing medium sized molecular spheres.
You should adhere to the list of rules following treatment to minimise the risk of bruising and swelling, including no exercise for up to 2 days; no makeup for 12 hours and no alcohol for 3 days. You should protect your skin from rain, sun, cold and extreme temperatures. Also, abstain from touching the site of injection.
What are the side effects?
Tenderness, swelling, firmness, bruising, pain, redness, discolouration, and itching are all temporary reactions that can occur following treatment. Some reactions can last for up to a week for skin injections and 2 weeks for lip injections. Reactions should subside within this timeframe. It is at the medical professionals discretion if they administer any medications to aid the healing process.
